On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the South Aegean Coordinator of New Democracy for the Secretariat for Children’s Rights, Ms. Katerina Emmanouil, attended the New Year’s cake-cutting event of the 3rd Scout Group of Paradisi, Rhodes.
During the event, participants nostalgically revisited memorable moments from 2025, while the central theme of “play” highlighted its significant benefits for children’s education and holistic development.
A particularly moving moment was the presentation of the “Scout Merit” medal to the group’s leader, Mr. Kyriakos Maliotakis, by the Regional Commissioner of the Dodecanese, Mr. Ioannis Spyrou, in recognition of his long-standing and meaningful contribution to Scouting.
The event concluded in a warm and festive atmosphere, with wishes for a new year filled with health, creativity, and plenty of Scout play.
