Α local resident was arrested yesterday, November 18, 2025, as part of the flagrant delicto procedure by investigating officers of the Kalymnos Volunteer Fire Station, following a fire that broke out in a plot of land in an area of the island. An administrative fine of €500 was imposed for the incident, in accordance with current legislation.
The Kalymnos Volunteer Fire Station reminds the public that fire prevention measures remain in effect during the winter season as well and urges citizens to comply with the relevant Fire Safety Regulations. As noted, any dangerous activity in rural areas can lead to a fire and result in significant administrative fines.
At the same time, inspections and patrols continue with the aim of protecting the natural environment and human life.
