CHRISTMAS PROGRAM MUNICIPALITY OF KALYMNOS – DECEMBER 2025

Dear residents,

The Christmas and New Year holidays always bring a special warmth to our island, filling Kalymnos with music, children’s laughter, and a festive spirit. This year, the Municipality of Kalymnos has prepared a rich program of events for all ages, aiming to offer joy, entertainment, and memorable moments to every family.

In a time when we all need hope and optimism, the festive season reminds us of the strength that comes from unity and cooperation. Kalymnos thrives when we stand together — when we support each other and, through participation, build a community that is bright, welcoming, and deeply human.

My heartfelt thanks go to the cultural associations, schools, institutions, volunteers, and of course the sponsors who embraced this year’s Christmas activities with dedication and generosity. Their contribution is invaluable and essential.

In collaboration with the Municipality of Kalymnos, same venue.

3. Christmas Tree Lighting in Vathy (Platanos)
In collaboration with the Parents & Guardians Association of Vathy School.
With the Municipal Philharmonic Band, the 3rd Primary School, and DJ with Christmas music.
Start time: 19:00

4. Official Christmas Tree Lighting of the Municipality of Kalymnos
Venue: City Hall
Participants:
• 3rd Primary School – theatrical performances
• 1st Primary School – inflatable play area
• Children’s Choir
Start time: 18:00

5. Dance performance by “Maiandros” Dance School
With participation of the Municipal Choir
Venue: Municipal Market
Time: 17:30

6. Event at the Cultural Center
Featuring the Municipal Choir under Mr. Tsagkaris.
Introductory speech by Protosyngellos Father Amfilochios.
Co-organized with the Holy Metropolis of Kalymnos.
Time: 19:00

7. Musical-Theatrical Performance: Perhaps… Maybe… One Day.
Kalymnos Theatre Group – Kalymnos Conservatory of Mr. Boufidis
Venue: Municipal Theatre (“Theatraki”)

8. Christmas Funfair (Luna Park)
Organized by the Kalymnos Scouts at the courtyard of Sotiras Christos.

10. Inflatable playground by the 1st Primary School
Venue: next to the Naval Museum.

11. Municipal Choir at the Kalymnos Nursing Home
Start time: 11:00

12. New Year’s Eve Carols
By the Municipal Philharmonic Band.

13. Christmas Bazaar at the Municipal Market
Stalls by associations and schools with Christmas items.
