Pupils, parents and teachers from Ilioupoli’s 5th Primary School will join the children and residents of Pserimos for the October 28 national celebrations.
Ilioupoli’s 5th Primary School is preparing a visit to the small border island of Pserimos, bringing a message of unity and solidarity ahead of Greece’s October 28 national holiday, known as Ohi Day.
According to an announcement by the school’s headteacher, Leonidas Mallios, a delegation of pupils, parents and teachers will arrive on Monday, October 26, 2026, to take part in the celebrations.
The visiting group will join events at Pserimos Primary School and Kindergarten, showing support for the children and educators of the small island community.
The highlight of the visit will be participation in the October 28 parade. The pupils and their companions from Ilioupoli will march alongside local children and residents, carrying the Greek flag and commemorating the national anniversary together.
The school describes the initiative as an opportunity for pupils to experience community spirit and shared historical remembrance, while strengthening ties with the border island community of Pserimos.
