With deep emotion and sincere sorrow, Giannis Pappas bid farewell to the blessed Metropolitan, former of Ganos and Chora, Kyros Amphilochios — a radiant and sanctified figure of the Church who dedicated his entire life to the service of God and humanity.
The Elder was a reference point for humility, kindness, and love. Through simple words and a heart filled with forgiveness, he taught by example the meaning of true offering, silent sacrifice, and faith without limits.
Mr. Pappas noted that he was blessed to visit him recently in the hospital. Despite his health trial, his face radiated serenity, and he welcomed him with his familiar gentle smile, offering his blessing — a simple yet profound moment that remains a precious spiritual legacy.
His absence leaves a great void; however, his memory and work will continue to illuminate the path of the local Church and the society of Rhodes.
He expressed his heartfelt condolences to his family, his spiritual children, and his entire flock.
