Giannis Pappas, a New Democracy MP for the Dodecanese, has dedicated his World Tourism Day message to the workers and professionals who support tourism across the islands every day.
He paid tribute to people working in hotels, restaurants, transport, retail and tourism businesses, saying that their work and hospitality make the Dodecanese distinctive destinations. Describing Rhodes as a flagship of Greek tourism, Pappas said the greatest asset of Rhodes and the other Dodecanese islands is their people.
Behind every successful tourism season, he said, is their sustained effort. He called for that effort to be supported through better infrastructure, investment in quality and sustainable development, helping the islands become more resilient in the years ahead.
