Kalymnos moves forward with new projects – Two major initiatives approved by the South Aegean Region
The Regional Committee of the South Aegean has approved two key projects for Kalymnos, reaffirming its commitment to the island’s sustainable development.
The first project concerns the installation of modern, energy-efficient street lighting along the main provincial road network (Pothia – Vathy, Armeos – Arginonta, Arginonta – Emporios), improving both safety and the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The second project involves the improvement of the road network on Kalolimnos Island, focusing on the maintenance and reconstruction of vital road sections.
With these decisions, the South Aegean Region moves from announcements to tangible results. The projects recently announced by Regional Governor George Hatzimarkos for Kalymnos are now entering the implementation phase, marking a new era of growth and opportunity for the island.
Head of Kalymnos Regional Unit Emmanouil G. Mousellis expressed his gratitude to the Regional Governor for his consistent support, stating:
“Kalymnos is lighting up, improving, and moving forward — not with words, but with action.”
