13 Major Issues on the Table in Kalymnos – Pothia Waterfront, Therma Springs, Coastal Protection and a Paschalis Concert
The Municipal Committee of Kalymnos will convene for a regular public meeting on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon, with an extensive agenda covering 13 issues of local interest.
The meeting will be held in person at Kalymnos Town Hall, in the former Municipal Council chamber, following an invitation issued by Municipal Committee President Ioannis Mastrokoukos.
Among the leading items are the inclusion of the Pothia waterfront redevelopment project in the “South Aegean 2021-2027” Programme, the development of the natural thermal resource at Therma, a coastal engineering study for the protection of the Kantouni-Linaria shoreline and the organisation of a concert featuring popular Greek singer Paschalis Arvanitidis.
The committee will also discuss the repair and maintenance of municipal vehicles and machinery, transportation services for 2026, fire protection measures in local schools, the management of municipal bequests, access to agricultural land and livestock holdings, and short-term parking spaces near pharmacies.

- Approval of the technical specifications and preparation of the tender terms for the Framework Agreement, through the open procedure provided for under Article 27 of Law 4412/2016, concerning the public contract entitled “Provision of repair and maintenance services and supply of spare parts for the vehicles and construction machinery of the Municipality of Kalymnos through the conclusion of a Framework Agreement,” with a budget of €215,965.81, excluding 17% VAT.
- Approval of Minutes II of the Tender Committee concerning the receipt and examination of the supporting documents submitted by the successful bidder in the below-threshold open procedure for the public contract entitled “General Transportation Services 2026.”
- Granting an extension to the contractual deadline of Contract No. 11896/20-05-2026, entitled “Preparation of studies for the implementation of fire protection measures and equipment in the school units of the Municipality of Kalymnos.”
- Confirmation that the Municipality is unable to prepare a coastal engineering study to determine the technical works required for the protection of the shoreline in the Kantouni-Linaria area of Kalymnos, and approval for assigning the study to a private consultant.
- Confirmation that the Municipality is unable to manage the bequests transferred to it, and approval of immediate cooperation with a specialised legal adviser-lawyer to safeguard and utilise municipal property and protect the interests of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
- Approval of the final deliverables of the project “Consultancy services supporting the Municipality of Kalymnos in the development of the natural thermal resource in the Therma settlement,” specifically Subproject 2: “Consultancy services for the preparation of a financial and technical study for an investment plan to develop the natural thermal resource in the Therma settlement.”
- Use of the negotiated procedure without prior publication, due to exclusivity, for the “Organisation of a musical event-concert featuring Paschalis Arvanitidis.”
- Acceptance of the inclusion of the project “Redevelopment of the Pothia Coastal Waterfront in Kalymnos,” under Integrated Information System code 6035580, in the “South Aegean 2021-2027” Programme.
- Acceptance of the inclusion of the projects listed in Annex II in the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023-2027, under Intervention P3-73-1.2, “Improving access to agricultural land and livestock holdings,” in the South Aegean Region.
- Reconsideration of the designation of short-term vehicle stopping spaces near pharmacies, following the response of the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
- Approval of expenses paid through the standing advance provided to primary and secondary school units of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
- Approval of the payment of expenses through the Municipality of Kalymnos’ standing advance.
- Submission of the revenue and expenditure account for July 2026.
The meeting will be open to the public, with access provided to citizens, residents and representatives of local organisations in accordance with the relevant legislation.
