The Provincial Medical Association of Kalymnos “Skevos Zervos” is calling for immediate settlement of 2026 travel ticket expenses, payment of a housing allowance and the re-advertisement of vacant established posts at Leros Hospital. It also firmly opposes any cuts to payments for on-call duties already performed.
In a letter dated 27 October 2026, addressed to Stamatios Kardasis, administrator of the Leros State Hospital – General Hospital – Health Centre, the association sets out a series of requests concerning doctors’ support and hospital staffing.
Specifically, it considers it essential to reinstate travel incentives enabling Leros Hospital doctors to visit their places of origin, alongside the immediate settlement of ticket expenses for 2026.
The association also stresses the need to pay the housing allowance and re-advertise the hospital’s vacant established posts.
On remuneration, it expresses unequivocal opposition to reductions in payments owed for on-call duties that doctors have already carried out.
The letter is signed on behalf of the association’s Board by its president, Mikes-Michail Koukouvas, and general secretary, Michail Monokandilos, and is copied to association members and the media.
