Lyceum Club of Greek Women Kalymnos Celebrates Tradition with Spectacular Dance Performances
Traditional music, colorful costumes and dances from Kalymnos and across Greece filled the waterfront area behind the Port Authority on Saturday evening, as the Lyceum Club of Greek Women – Kalymnos Branch launched the first of two major events marking the end of this year’s dance classes.
Children, teenagers and adult dancers took part in a vibrant performance showcasing the richness of Greek folk culture and the enduring value of tradition. Kalymnian dances held a special place in the program and received enthusiastic applause from the large audience gathered along the seaside promenade.
The event highlighted the important contribution of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women in preserving and promoting Greek cultural heritage while passing traditional customs and dances on to younger generations.
The celebrations will continue on Saturday, June 6, at 7:00 p.m., at the same waterfront location, featuring another program dedicated to traditional dances from Kalymnos and various regions of Greece.
Kalymnos Times attended the event and captured memorable moments from an evening that evolved into a true celebration of culture, tradition and community spirit.
