Message from Angeliki Trikoili, Coordinator of the SYRIZA-PS Members’ Organization of Kalymnos, on the Anniversary of October 28th
Today, with our presence at the commemorative events for the anniversary of October 28th, we honor our homeland’s struggles for freedom, dignity, and national independence.
This struggle is timeless and always relevant—difficult and full of obstacles.
Especially for a country like ours and a people who seek not only to live, but to create and progress—within the geopolitical chessboard we find ourselves in and a constantly shifting international landscape—this struggle must take the form of an active and multidimensional foreign policy to defend our national interests.
We, the modern Greeks, as citizens and descendants of heroes, must never forget that the daily struggle takes place from each person’s own post and must focus on building a progressive Greece with dignity and social justice.
A Greece of equal rights for all, with equal access to essential goods such as free public education, healthcare, employment, and also the support and implementation of meaningful island policies, which are of such great importance to our region.
