Major Boost for Kalymnos Hospital
The medical equipment of Kalymnos General Hospital – Health Centre “Vouvaleio” has received a significant upgrade through the donation of advanced, fully equipped patient monitors by Minerva Marine Inc. and shipowner Andreas Martinos.
According to a press release issued by the hospital, the donation is valued at €24,450 and includes EDAN Instruments Inc. iV15 and iV100 monitors, designed to strengthen the continuous and reliable monitoring of patients’ vital signs.
The iV15 is a fully equipped anaesthesia monitor featuring capnography and an integrated sensor module. It also includes a small detachable standalone screen that can accompany a patient during transport while retaining the complete history of recorded measurements.
The iV100, meanwhile, features a docking station and a fully equipped independent monitor, enabling the accompanying physician to receive continuous and reliable information about the vital signs of an intubated patient during transfer.
The hospital administration said the donation provides a substantial upgrade to Vouvaleio’s medical technology and strengthens its capacity for timely and reliable diagnosis. The new equipment will benefit residents of Kalymnos as well as patients from neighbouring islands served by the hospital.
Hospital Governor Typadis-Panteleimon Kogas and the Board of Directors expressed their gratitude to Minerva Marine Inc. and Andreas Martinos, highlighting their longstanding support for Vouvaleio Hospital and public healthcare in the remote Dodecanese islands.
The donation represents a practical investment in patient safety and provides the hospital’s medical teams with another valuable tool in their efforts to deliver higher-quality healthcare across the island region.
