The Administrator of Vouválio Hospital of Kalymnos, Pantelis Kogkas, announced that a voluntary blood donation drive took place on March 15 2026 at the Halikeio facility within Kalymnos Hospital.
The initiative was organized in cooperation with the Kalymnos Blood Donors Association and was supported by the sponsorship of the shipping company Minerva Marine, contributing to the strengthening of blood reserves and promoting voluntary donation.
Additionally, Minerva Marine proceeded with a significant donation to Kalymnos Hospital, totaling €83,950. The donation includes modern medical equipment, specifically an ultrasound machine for the gynecology clinic, as well as two monitors for the needs of the anaesthesiology department of the General Hospital of Kalymnos.
This initiative substantially enhances the healthcare services provided on the island, highlighting the importance of collaboration between local institutions and private sector support.
