Solidarity in action: Municipality of Kalymnos offers 150 lambs to families for Easter
In an effort to support vulnerable citizens and strengthen social cohesion, the Municipality of Kalymnos will distribute 150 lambs to an equal number of families ahead of the Holy Easter days.
The initiative is part of the municipality’s social policy and is implemented based on specific financial and social criteria, as determined by the relevant municipal services, ensuring that assistance reaches those who truly need it.
The Municipal Authority emphasizes that care for families and social solidarity are at the core of its policy. Since the beginning of its term, a Deputy Mayorship of Health and Welfare has been established, under Deputy Mayor Giorgos Choullis, aiming at the continuous support of vulnerable groups and the assurance of decent living conditions for all citizens.
“The holy days of Easter should not leave any home without the possibility of having its own lamb – no family should be deprived of the joy and warmth of these days,” stated the Mayor of Kalymnos, Giannis Mastrokoukos.
This initiative is yet another tangible example of the Municipality’s social responsibility, as it continues to invest in people and support those in need.
