Following reactions from parents who were unable to enroll their children in the Municipal Nursery School, the Mayor of Kalymnos, Ioannis Mastrokoukos, stated to the local media that the selection of children was based on financial criteria, as reflected in tax data. He also emphasized that there is a legal limit to the number of children that cannot be exceeded.
The Mayor promised that additional staff will be hired through ASEP in order to accommodate future parental requests, and committed to opening the nursery school in Chora as well.
