Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas announced the creation of a new Unified Special Vocational Junior and Senior High School in Kos, following his parliamentary intervention earlier in 2024. By decision of Minister of Education Zetta Makri, the school will be one of eight new special schools operating from the next academic year.
The establishment was deemed necessary as the only similar school in the region is currently in Rhodes. The new school is expected to initially serve 38 students, easing overcrowding in other local schools.
