Kalymnos is taking the lead in the Dodecanese with the introduction and use of an ozone generator at Kalymnos Hospital, enhancing its capacity to provide modern medical services.
This important addition was made possible through a donation by expatriate Panagiotis Matthaiou from the state of Michigan, USA. The device was officially delivered to the hospital by the donor’s cousin, Mr. Vouros, highlighting the continued support of the Greek diaspora toward the island.
Anesthesiologist Pavlos Makarounas explained the multiple applications of the ozone generator, noting that beyond pain management in patients, the device can also be used in various therapeutic practices, broadening the range of healthcare services offered.
This development places Kalymnos in a pioneering position within the Dodecanese region, emphasizing the importance of donations and diaspora contributions in upgrading healthcare infrastructure.
