The President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, visited the island of Telendos, west of Kalymnos, to attend the blessing ceremony of the local one-teacher Primary School, which has a single pupil, Savvas. His presence at the ceremony aimed to highlight the state’s commitment to its constitutional duty of providing free education to every student, wherever they may live in our country.
Also present were the Governor of the South Aegean Region, Giorgos Hatzimarkos, the Prefect of Kalymnos, Manolis Mousellis, the Mayor of Kalymnos, Ioannis Mastrokoukos, the Members of Parliament for the Dodecanese from New Democracy, Ioannis Pappas, Manos Konsolas, and Mika Iatridi, as well as Giorgos Nikitiadis from PASOK.
The event was also attended by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Commander of the 80th Higher National Guard Battalions Command (80 ADTE), Brigadier Dimitris Kouletsis, the President of the Kalymnos Medical Association, Gerasimos Apostolatos, the Director of the Kalymnos Hospital, Pantelis Kongas, and Regional Councilor Mikes Zirounis.
