Schools Closed in Cyclades and Dodecanese on April 2 Due to Severe Weather
All schools across the Cyclades and Dodecanese will remain closed on Thursday, April 2, 2026, following a decision by the South Aegean Region, as a precautionary measure to protect public safety amid forecasted severe weather conditions.
The suspension applies to all levels of education, including preschool units and special education schools.
According to the official announcement, the measure aims to prevent risks to the population, particularly related to transportation to and from school facilities.
The decision has been communicated to the Regional Directorate of Education of the South Aegean, published on the “Diavgeia” transparency platform.
The decision was signed by the Regional Governor of the South Aegean, George Hatzimarkos.
