The leader of SYRIZA–PS, Sokratis Famellos, visited the farmers’ blockade in Nikaia, expressing his party’s support for what he described as a fair and legitimate struggle by farmers. He stressed that farmers’ demands concern not only their own survival but also consumers and regional development across Greece.
Famellos accused the government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of avoiding real solutions and fostering social division. He urged the immediate implementation of seven SYRIZA–PS proposals to prevent further escalation, including cheaper agricultural electricity, tax-free fuel, full compensation for livestock losses, and the return of misappropriated funds to honest farmers.
The visit was attended by Larissa MP Vasilis Kokkalis and party officials.
