The South Aegean Regional Council has expressed its deep sorrow at the death of Aikaterini Zirouni, sister of Mikes Zirounis, a regional councillor representing the Kalymnos Regional Unit.
The council held an extraordinary meeting by circulation on Friday, 25 September 2026, at the invitation of its president, Mara Antoniadi. The sole item was the adoption of a condolence resolution.
In its unanimous decision 64/2026, the council extended its heartfelt condolences to Mikes Zirounis and the entire family. It also decided that a council representative would attend the funeral service, that the resolution would be read aloud, and that it would be published in the local press.
