SYRIZA-PS issued a response to New Democracy regarding inflation, accusing the government of distorting reality and misrepresenting economic data. The party cited the Bank of Greece’s inflation monitoring report, noting that while the eurozone’s average inflation rate for 2025 stood at 2.1%, Greece reached 2.9%, with core inflation at 3.6%.
It also referred to a circular from the General Secretariat for Commerce showing significant price increases between 2021 and 2025: bread up 43%, meat up 110%, and clothing up 77%.
SYRIZA-PS argues that the government ignores official data and stresses that rising prices have placed a heavy burden on Greek households. It emphasizes that public debate should rely on factual evidence rather than political messaging.
