The Mayor of Kalymnos announces the selection process for the Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises in the Municipality of Kalymnos, by the provisions of Article 77 of Law 3852/2010, as reinstated and amended by paragraphs 1, 2, 3 & 5 of Article 7 of Law 4623/2019.
A. Selection Criteria
A person of recognized stature and experience is selected as the Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises. Criteria, deemed sufficient to ensure that the Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises is worthy of this position, are qualifications that must be documented, by the CVs of the candidates, which must necessarily accompany the nominations. Candidates must hold a University (Bachelor’s) degree or a Technological Education (TE) degree, and knowledge of a foreign language (preferably English) will be assessed.
B. Submission of Candidacies
Candidates submit a declaration to the Municipal Executive Office, in person or by proxy of a lawyer at the beginning of the selection process. Any interested party is invited to submit a declaration of candidacy, accompanied by a CV, as well as any other document that, in their judgment, will enhance their candidacy for the position of Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises in the Municipality of Kalymnos, from the date of issuance and posting of the decision of the Municipal Council, according to which the minimum content of the legally prescribed announcement is determined, until the date of issuance of a relevant Invitation by the President of the Municipal Council, which will be published on the Municipality’s website and will include the date and time of the session. Also, the participation envelope must be accompanied by a sworn statement under Law 1599/1986 stating that the candidate does not have the impediments and incompatibilities mentioned in paragraph (C) herein.
By submitting the relevant declaration application, the candidate unequivocally accepts the disclosure of the above documents (declaration of candidacy, CV, sworn statement) to the members of the Municipal Council of Kalymnos.
C. Impediments and Incompatibilities
An elected municipal official, regional councilor, or member of parliament cannot be selected as Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises. As for the position of Ombudsman of Citizens & Enterprises, the impediments and incompatibilities provided for in Article 10 of Law 4804/2021 (Government Gazette A’ 90) apply.
