Kalymnos to Honor Its Champions
The Municipality of Kalymnos is preparing to honor the island’s outstanding athletes for their achievements during the 2025–2026 sports season, highlighting excellence in sports and encouraging young people to pursue athletic activities.
The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., at the Kalymnos Center of Culture and History. The event will recognize athletes and para-athletes who competed in official Olympic sports between September 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026.
According to the Municipality’s Department of Education, Lifelong Learning, Culture and Sports, only achievements earned in official federation championships will be considered, while tournaments and sports festivals will not be included in the selection process.
Awards will be presented to athletes distinguished in:
- Dodecanese Championships (individual and team sports)
- Aegean Track and Field Games
- Regional Swimming Championships
- Greek National Championships (final phase)
- Balkan Championships
- Mediterranean Games
- European Championships
- World Championships, according to the qualifying placement for each competition.
Local sports clubs have been invited to submit their athletes’ achievements by July 20, 2026, to the Municipal Sports Office to complete the preparation of the event.
