With decisions signed by Minister of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy Vassilis Kikilias, grants were approved for island municipalities to support water supply initiatives:
- Municipality of Patmos:
- €189,720 (including VAT) for leasing a mobile seawater desalination unit (capacity of 600 m³/day) for a period of five months in 2025.
- €138,880 (including VAT) for the supplementary supply of drinking water for one year.

- Municipality of Leros:
- €327,600 (including VAT) for the full operation and maintenance of existing desalination units (capacity of 2,000 m³/day) for one year.
- €327,600 (including VAT) for the full operation and maintenance of existing desalination units (capacity of 2,000 m³/day) for one year.
- Municipality of Astypalaia:
- €150,000 (including VAT) for the supply of tanks and pumping systems to support the water supply network in the settlements of Chora and Livadi, near the Astypalaia dam.
- €150,000 (including VAT) for the supply of tanks and pumping systems to support the water supply network in the settlements of Chora and Livadi, near the Astypalaia dam.
In all cases, the disbursement of the grants will be gradual, depending on project progress and the submission of the required documentation (contracts, invoices, and delivery reports approved by the competent authority).
