On Sunday, April 5, 2026, Ms. Katerina Emmanouil, South Aegean Coordinator of the New Democracy Secretariat for Children’s Rights, visited the Pediatric Clinic of Rhodes Hospital on the occasion of the Holy Easter period.
During the visit, Easter baskets, traditional sweet bread (tsoureki), and candles were offered to the hospitalized children, as well as to those expected to be admitted in the coming days, as a symbolic gesture of love and support from the Secretariat for Children’s Rights.
The Pediatric Clinic of Rhodes Hospital is currently temporarily housed on the first floor, while in the near future it is expected to be relocated to a new, fully renovated facility.
The welcome from the medical and nursing staff, as well as from the Director of the Clinic, Ms. Kordoni, was particularly warm, following prior communication with the Hospital Administrator, who immediately embraced the initiative.
As part of the visit, a discussion was held with the medical staff, during which key issues and needs of the Pediatric Clinic were highlighted. It was also emphasized that Rhodes Hospital serves pediatric cases from other islands in the region when they cannot be treated locally, underscoring its pivotal role in the healthcare system of the South Aegean.
Supporting children and their families remains a priority for the Government, with the decisive contribution of the staff of Rhodes Hospital, who give their very best every day to ensure proper care for hospitalized children.
