Telendos Projects, Pedestrian Zones and Honorary Citizenship
The Kalymnos Municipal Council will hold a regular public hybrid meeting on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with an extensive agenda comprising 17 items.
The meeting will take place in the council chamber at Kalymnos Town Hall, with members able to participate either in person or by videoconference. The proceedings will also be broadcast live on the Municipality of Kalymnos’ official YouTube channel.
Key items include amendments to the budgets of the Municipality and the Municipal Port Fund, projects and initiatives for Telendos, regulations governing municipal sports facilities, temporary pedestrian zones in Linaria and Rina, and the management of bequests inherited by the Municipality.
One of the most notable proposals is the proclamation of Serbian educator and author Goran Joksimović as an honorary citizen of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
The council will also consider approving the “GReco Islands” Local Action Plan for Telendos under Greece’s 2021-2027 EU funding programme, as well as an extension to the deadline for the repair and maintenance of the island’s paved surfaces.

- Approval of the third amendment to the Municipality of Kalymnos’ 2026 budget.
- Approval of the fourth amendment to the Kalymnos Municipal Port Fund’s 2026 budget.
- Extension of the deadline for the paving repair and maintenance project on Telendos.
- Proclamation of Serbian educator and author Goran Joksimović as an honorary citizen.
- Approval of the “GReco Islands” Local Action Plan for Telendos.
- Approval of regulations governing the operation of municipal sports facilities.
- Creation of a municipal archive at the Municipality-owned parking property in the Kalamiotissa parish.
- Review of the legal status and actions required for the use and management of bequests transferred to the Municipality.
- Installation of mobile metal signs providing information about temporary pedestrian zones in Linaria and Rina, Vathy.
- Establishment of supporting documents and procedures for issuing access permits to residents and business employees in the pedestrianised areas.
- Regulation of a parking area on Pothia’s main commercial street, near the “AB Vassilopoulos” supermarket.
- Approval of the destruction of unusable materials from the central square fountain.
- Updating the decision concerning eligible Municipal Council and Municipal Committee members and their compensation for attending meetings.
- Establishment of a committee to examine objections and appeals relating to traffic violations recorded by the Municipal Police.
- Approval of the Mayor’s official travel outside Kalymnos.
