The 2nd Public Special Accountability Meeting of the Municipal Authority took place in the conference room of the Cultural Center yesterday, May 15, 2024, however, it was not broadcast live via video streaming.
The main opposition requested the Mayor, Mr. I. Mastrokoukos, to address three issues. Firstly, they asked when the solid waste management problem would be resolved. Secondly, they requested information on Municipal Transportation. Thirdly, they inquired about the Municipal Authority’s plans for the Climbing Festival.
The Mayor responded with an extensive historical review of why there hasn’t been proper solid waste management to date and added that they are currently seeking resources for this matter. Regarding Municipal Transportation, he said that two buses have been rented for the immediate operation of Transportation and they aim to secure vehicles in the future through leasing. In fact, they are even striving to acquire an electric bus. As for the Climbing Festival, the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, K. Koutouzi Vogelzang, stated they have scheduled the International Festival for May 2025.
