Metropolitan Paisios’ August Schedule Across Kalymnos, Leros and Astypalaia
The Holy Metropolis of Leros, Kalymnos and Astypalaia has announced the August 2026 schedule of His Eminence Metropolitan Paisios.
The programme includes Divine Liturgies, services of supplication to the Virgin Mary and solemn Vespers across the three islands. Its highlights will be the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ on 6 August and the Dormition of the Theotokos on 15 August.

Saturday, 1 August
- 7:30–9:30 a.m.: Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint John the Theologian in Kalymnos.
- 6:30–7:30 p.m.: Vespers at the Church of the Forty Holy Martyrs in Leros.
Sunday, 2 August
- 7:30–10:00 a.m.: Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Christ the Saviour in Leros.
- 8:00–9:30 p.m.: First Supplication Service to the Virgin Mary at the Monastery of Panagia of the Castle.
Monday, 3 August
- 7:30–9:30 a.m.: Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of the Angels in Leros.
- 7:00–9:00 p.m.: Vespers and Supplication Service at the Metropolitan Church of Christ the Saviour in Kalymnos.
Tuesday, 4 August
- 7:00–9:00 a.m.: Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Church of Christ the Saviour in Kalymnos.
- 7:00–9:00 p.m.: Blessing of the shrine of Kyra Panagia Ypsili, followed by a Supplication Service in Vathy.
Wednesday, 5 August
- 7:00–9:00 a.m.: Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Church of Christ the Saviour.
- 7:30–9:30 p.m.: Great Hierarchical Vespers for the feast of the Transfiguration, followed by a procession with the holy icon of Christ the Saviour.
The Metropolis programme also includes a Supplication Service at the Church of Panagia Glykiou from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, 6 August – Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ
- 7:00–10:00 a.m.: Festal Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Church of Christ the Saviour.
- 7:00–8:00 p.m.: Post-feast Vespers and Supplication Service to the Virgin Mary.
Saturday, 8 August
- Vespers at the Metropolitan Church of Christ the Saviour, followed by participation in events organised by the Kalymnos Provincial Administration.
Sunday, 9 August
- Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of Kalymnos.
- Memorial service for Skevos Zervos, according to the programme of the Kalymnos Provincial Administration.
Tuesday, 11 August
- Supplication Service to the Virgin Mary at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Astypalaia.
Wednesday, 12 August
- 7:00 p.m.: Supplication Service at the Church of Saint Kosmas of Aetolia in Livadi, Astypalaia.
Thursday, 13 August
- 7:00 p.m.: Supplication Service at the Church of Megali Panagia.
Friday, 14 August
- 7:00 p.m.: Great Festal Vespers at the Metropolitan Church of Panagia Portaitissa in Astypalaia.
