Evening seminar in Kalymnos on the launch of alternative management of C&D Waste (AEKK) in public and private projects
An evening seminar titled “Launch of Alternative Management of C&D Waste (AEKK) in private and public works in the Regional Unit of Kalymnos” will be held by ANAKEM S.A., under the auspices of the Municipality of Kalymnos and the Technical Chamber of Greece – Dodecanese Dept.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at 18:00, at the hall of the Kalymnos Spiritual Center.
Organizers highlight that amid increased construction activity, proper handling of Excavation, Construction and Demolition Waste (AEKK) is a key issue, aiming to curb illegal dumping in streams, forests and public areas, while promoting a culture of reuse.
ANAKEM states it is the largest collective alternative management scheme for AEKK in Greece, covering 69 regional units across all 13 administrative regions, supported by a network of 240+ recycling and processing facilities. For 2013–2025, it reports handling over 26 million tonnes of AEKK and supplying around 10 million tonnes of secondary materials, operating under ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Through the seminar, ANAKEM aims to provide comprehensive information to engineers, elected officials, public administration and local government staff, construction companies, and other professionals involved in the construction sector regarding the required procedures.
