Proteas N.O.K. has added another major achievement to its growing list of successes, this time earning qualification for a world championship event.
On June 20–21, the club participated in the 8th Oceanman Open Water Swimming Competition, held at Vouliagmeni Beach, Greece.
Michalis Glynatsis competed in the 1,000-meter finswimming event with bi-fins, making his debut in an open-water competition. He delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 3rd overall and 1st in the 30–39 age category.
This remarkable result secured his qualification for the Oceanman World Championship Final, which will take place in the Dominican Republic in November 2026.
It is worth noting that Michalis Glynatsis, who serves as Proteas N.O.K.’s swimming coach, also competes in the Masters category across various aquatic sports. To date, he has earned eight national medals in finswimming competitions—four gold and four silver medals—and has also set a Greek National Record in pool finswimming.
The club’s Board of Directors, proud of his overall progress and achievements, warmly congratulates him for his dedication and continuous efforts across aquatic disciplines. They wish him the very best in his preparation and every success as he pursues his new goal on the world stage.
