Award Ceremony for Top Students of the Dodecanese Attended by Katerina Emmanouil
Katerina Emmanouil, Coordinator for Children’s Rights of New Democracy in the South Aegean, attended the award ceremony honoring top-performing third-grade high school students from schools across the Dodecanese, held on Sunday, March 15.
The event was a significant initiative aimed at recognizing and rewarding the effort, perseverance, and excellence of students from the islands.
As highlighted during the ceremony, the success of the distinguished students is the result of hard work, dedication, and high aspirations, as well as the essential support of their families and teachers.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of this achievement for students from island regions, demonstrating that ambition and determination are not limited by geographical distance, even when growing up far from major urban centers.
It was also noted that excellence is closely linked to equal opportunities and meritocracy, representing an ongoing process of progress for both students and the education system as a whole.
Reference was made to the challenges of the modern era, as rapid technological advancements—particularly in artificial intelligence—are transforming the labor market, making proper career guidance increasingly important for the younger generation.
Ms. Emmanouil congratulated the Lions Club of Rhodes for its longstanding support of education, as well as all the students who were honored, encouraging them to continue dreaming and setting high goals.
