With deep emotion and great pride, I was informed of the laying of the foundation stone for the Holy Church of Saint Savvas in distant Darwin, Australia—a church dedicated to the miraculous patron saint of our beloved Kalymnos.
This initiative stands as a shining example of unity, faith, and love for our roots, our homeland, and our traditions. Through the construction of this sacred place, you are keeping the soul of Kalymnos alive in the heart of the diaspora, creating a spiritual beacon for future generations.
As Deputy Governor of the Regional Unit of Kalymnos, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to all of you who toiled, worked, and contributed to the realization of this vision. May Saint Savvas watch over and bless you, your families, and the entire Kalymnian community in Australia.
