Continuous seismic tremors are being recorded in the Cyclades, with the epicenter in Santorini and Amorgos causing concern for residents. On Saturday (1/2), the OASP’s scientific committees held an emergency meeting and decided on precautionary measures, such as closing schools and avoiding gatherings.
Although seismic activity in the caldera has decreased, an increased seismic sequence has been observed between Thira and Amorgos, which is not related to volcanic activity.
Citizens are urged to remain alert, follow the authorities’ instructions, and seek information on official protection websites.
