Traditional Professions and “Aegean Cuisine” at the Center of Discussions
The Board of Directors of the Dodecanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry convened in Kalymnos on May 23, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chamber’s conference hall.
This marked the 459th meeting of the Board of Directors, featuring an important agenda focusing both on Kalymnos and the broader development strategy of the Dodecanese islands.
Among the key topics discussed were:
- The President’s briefing
- Special issues concerning Kalymnos
- Investment in the traditional professions of the Dodecanese as a perspective for the future
- Proposals regarding the next phase of the “AEGEAN CUISINE” initiative
- Ratification of minutes from previous meetings
Particular emphasis was placed on the presentation concerning traditional professions, as preserving and strengthening the islands’ productive and cultural identity is considered of strategic importance.
Greetings were delivered by the Regional Governor of Kalymnos, Manolis Mousellis, and the Mayor of Kalymnos, Ioannis Mastrokoukos.
Representing the Chamber councilors of Kalymnos, Chamber Councilor Irini Chalkiti proposed the development of a comprehensive tourism plan for Kalymnos. Her proposal was unanimously approved.
