Major educational initiative by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in Kalymnos, Pserimos and Telendos
A significant educational initiative aimed at students and educators is set to take place in Kalymnos from April 19 to April 23, 2026, organized by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Kalymnos.
According to a municipal announcement, the initiative is the result of coordinated efforts and contacts made in recent months to ensure the Foundation’s presence on the island. The program had originally been scheduled for the previous year but was postponed for practical reasons and successfully rescheduled for 2026.
The program includes a wide range of educational activities for primary and secondary school students, as well as teachers, covering modern subjects such as artificial intelligence, programming and robotics, along with arts, rhetoric and creative expression.
A ten-member team from the Foundation will visit all school units in Kalymnos, as well as schools in Telendos and Pserimos, offering educational programs to hundreds of students.
The initiative is part of the Municipality’s broader strategy to strengthen education and support the local school community. Coordination of the program was undertaken by Deputy Mayor Giannis Theofilidis.
Special mention is made of the collaboration with the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, an organization with a long-standing contribution to education and culture, which has been honored by the Academy of Athens for its work both in Greece and internationally.
The municipal authority expressed its gratitude to the Foundation, emphasizing that investment in knowledge and education remains a key priority for the development of the local community.
