We can tell you where your eggs come from in the EU!
According to EU regulations, eggs sold in the EU must be labeled with information about the living conditions of the hens.
The code stamped on the egg indicates:
- the farming method (numbered from 0 to 3)
- the country of origin (two letters)
- the farm’s registration number
In response to the European Citizens’ Initiative “End the Cage Age,” signed by 1.4 million people across the EU, the European Parliament has called on the Commission to propose a ban on cage farming in the EU by 2027.
