Seventeen-year-old Ioannis Magriplis was the one who retrieved the Holy Cross during the Epiphany celebrations at the port of Kalymnos, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Despite the cloudy sky and the threat of rain, a large crowd gathered at the port to attend the Blessing of the Waters ceremony. A total of ten boys dived into the cold harbor waters, taking part in the traditional Epiphany ritual.
