Fire Lighting Ban Due to Extreme Weather Conditions– Wildfire Risk Alert
Due to strong winds and a high forest fire risk (category 3), lighting fires and circulation in restricted areas is prohibited.
The South Aegean Region has declared a state of high readiness, activating a circulation ban (index 3) for the Regional Units of Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, and Karpathos.
Wildfires are currently active across the country, especially in Chios, resulting in all ground and aerial firefighting forces being on alert, with no possible assistance in an emergency.
The guidelines issued by the Civil Protection of the Region are clear, and citizens are kindly requested to comply with the legislation.
