With deep sorrow and emotion, our local community bids farewell to Ioannis Ant. Halikos, a distinguished compatriot who passed away prematurely, leaving behind an invaluable legacy of generosity and love for his homeland.
The late Ioannis Halikos achieved great success in Australia, where he distinguished himself through his business and social activities, while never forgetting his birthplace, Kalymnos. With a strong sense of responsibility and deep affection for the island, he made meaningful investments in his homeland and supported his fellow citizens through extensive social and philanthropic work.
His contribution was invaluable and decisive for the local community. In recognition of this remarkable contribution, the Municipal Council of Kalymnos, by unanimous decision and following a proposal by Mayor Ioannis A. Galouzis, declared him GREAT BENEFACTOR OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KALYMNOS, an honor reflecting the gratitude and respect of the entire community.
His memory will remain alive as an example of integrity, hard work, generosity, and selfless love for his homeland.
