Another major success for Kalymnos athletics was achieved yesterday in Leros during the K18 Interclub Championship, as Maria Gati impressed everyone in the very first javelin competition of her life and immediately climbed to the top of the podium.
The young athlete, coached by Nikolas Korfias, won 1st place and the gold medal, becoming the Dodecanese Champion in the javelin throw event and bringing another important distinction to Kalymnos.
Her throw of 25.15 meters marked her first personal best in the event, creating high expectations for a very promising future.
Maria’s effort was truly emotional and inspiring, showing determination, passion, and great potential — proof that hard work and proper guidance can lead to remarkable achievements even from a first appearance.
