Kalymnos Takes the Court
The 3×3 Basketball event on Kalymnos concluded with great success, confirming its place among the island’s most important summer sporting traditions.
Dozens of male and female athletes, accompanied by their families and basketball fans, brought the court to life and created a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy, competitive spirit, fair play and smiles.
According to Manolis Mousellis, Head of the Kalymnos Regional Administration, the initiative began six years ago in cooperation with the Kalymnos Model Basketball Academy (CBA), with a clear vision: to establish an event that would be embraced by the local community and become a landmark for sport on the island.
“Today, we can say with certainty that this goal has been achieved,” Mr Mousellis stated, highlighting the strong participation and enthusiastic response from the public.
He extended his warmest thanks to the co-organisers, volunteers, sponsors, referees and athletes, as well as to everyone whose presence and support contributed to the success of this major celebration of sport.
Mr Mousellis also stressed that the Kalymnos Regional Administration would continue investing in initiatives that promote sport, unite the community and showcase Kalymnos as an island capable of building lasting and meaningful institutions.
The organisers renewed their appointment for next summer, promising to return with even greater ambitions and an even stronger event.
