State-of-the-Art €59,500 Ultrasound System Donated to Kalymnos Hospital by Minerva Marine and Andreas Martinos
The General Hospital – Health Centre of Kalymnos, “Vouvaleio”, has significantly upgraded its medical equipment following the donation of a GE Healthcare Voluson Signature 18 state-of-the-art ultrasound system, valued at €59,500, by Minerva Marine Inc. and prominent Greek shipowner Andreas Martinos.
In an official statement, the Hospital’s Administration and Board of Directors expressed their sincere gratitude for the generous donation, noting that the new equipment will substantially enhance the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and improve the quality of healthcare services provided to residents of Kalymnos and the neighbouring islands served by the hospital.
The announcement highlights that Kalymnos Hospital is the first hospital in Greece to receive this particular advanced ultrasound system, marking an important milestone for healthcare services in the Dodecanese.
The hospital also praised Minerva Marine and Andreas Martinos for their longstanding commitment to supporting public healthcare through continuous donations and social responsibility initiatives benefiting the island community.
Hospital Administrator Panteleimon Typadis-Kongas described the donation as a lasting investment in the hospital’s future and a major contribution to strengthening healthcare services across Greece’s remote island region.
