A total of 46 migrants were found early Saturday morning (18/05) on the island of Kalolimnos, northeast of Kalymnos. A few hours later, this morning, 20 more migrants were found on Nisyros, also transported there by a speedboat.
The 46 migrants (16 men, 7 women, and 23 children) have already been transferred to the port of Kalymnos by a coast guard vessel.
According to their statements, they had boarded a speedboat from the “Turgutreis” area of Turkey, paying amounts ranging from $1,700 to $10,000 each for their transport to Greece. An investigation is being conducted by the Kalymnos Coast Guard.
