Major Awards Night on 24 August
The Municipality of Kalymnos will honour the athletes who distinguished themselves during the 2025-2026 sporting season at a special ceremony celebrating the island’s achievements and athletic future.
The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, at 8:00 p.m. by the swimming pool at Normas Village in Linaria, Panormos.
Organised by the municipality’s Sports Department, the initiative has a dual purpose: to recognise the dedication and achievements of the island’s leading athletes and to inspire more young people in Kalymnos to become involved in sport.
Awards will be presented to male and female athletes, including athletes with disabilities, who achieved distinctions between 1 September 2025 and 31 July 2026 in officially recognised Olympic sports and federation championships. Invitational tournaments and one-day sporting events are not included in the award criteria.
The honours cover achievements at Dodecanese championships, the Aegean Athletics Games, regional swimming competitions and national championships, as well as the Balkan Games, Mediterranean Games, European championships and world-level competitions.
The ceremony is expected to showcase the strength of sport in Kalymnos and celebrate those whose hard work, commitment and success continue to make the island proud at home and abroad.
