Statement by the Board of Directors of Kalymnos General Hospital – Health Center “Vouvaleio” on the passing of Giannis Halikos
The Board of Directors of the Kalymnos General Hospital – Health Center “Vouvaleio” expresses its deep sorrow over the sudden passing of the great benefactor of Kalymnos, Giannis Halikos.
The late benefactor was a man who closely associated his name with selfless generosity toward his birthplace, and particularly toward the Hospital of Kalymnos.
Through his valuable and generous contribution, significant infrastructure projects were implemented, substantially upgrading the healthcare services provided to the residents of the island.
With his generous funding, the modern Halikeios Wing of the Hospital was created, a project that significantly strengthened the hospital’s infrastructure and improved healthcare services for the residents of Kalymnos and the surrounding islands.
Giannis Halikos had become synonymous with generosity, social contribution, and his genuine love for the hospital of his homeland, playing a decisive role in strengthening and developing the Kalymnos General Hospital – Health Center “Vouvaleio.”
His contribution was long-standing and multifaceted, leaving a valuable legacy for the present and future of the Hospital.
In recognition of this remarkable contribution, the Kalymnos General Hospital – Health Center “Vouvaleio” has honored him with the title of Great Benefactor of the Institution, a distinction awarded to individuals whose contributions play a decisive role in strengthening and developing public healthcare in our region.
His passing leaves an irreplaceable void; however, his work and generosity will remain a lasting reminder of his love for Kalymnos and its people.
