On November 17, 2025, the Kalymnos General Hospital received a new GE OEC One ASD C-Arm system, with the support of the 2nd Regional Health Authority (2nd RHA) and the Ministry of Health. The new unit will replace the existing GE Stenoscope 9000, which had been in operation since 1999. The procurement was carried out through funding provided by the 2nd RHA.
The upgraded C-Arm is expected to significantly enhance orthopedic procedures, allowing surgeons to monitor the precise placement of implants in real time, ensuring maximum safety and effectiveness even in complex operations.
Its digital technology minimizes radiation exposure for both patients and staff without compromising image quality, while its real-time image-processing capabilities substantially support surgical work.
