€46,000 Water Treatment System to Be Installed
The administration and Board of Directors of Kalymnos General Hospital–Health Centre “Vouvaleio” have announced that immediate measures were taken to restore water quality following an inspection by the Health Department of the South Aegean Region.
The hospital is now awaiting the results of new samples collected after the corrective measures were implemented. In the meantime, its clinical departments and Emergency Department continue to operate under specific safety protocols, while emergency surgical procedures are also being carried out.
The hospital’s Artificial Kidney Unit has temporarily suspended operations and will reopen once the required technical inspection has been completed. During this period, dialysis treatment for affected patients is being provided by the hospitals of Kos and Leros.
According to the hospital administration, a new water storage and disinfection system is expected to be installed by August 12. The project will cost €46,000 and will be funded through the hospital’s budget.
The press release is signed by the hospital’s Board President, Typadis-Panteleimon Kongas.
