Seven Summer Events Celebrating Sport, the Sea and Tradition
A rich programme bringing together Kalymnians from across the world and residents of the island will take place from July 23 to August 7 as part of the Pan-Kalymnian Summer Events 2026.
Under the central message “Our island, our people, our traditions – Let’s celebrate together,” the programme combines sporting events, a boat excursion, seaside entertainment, traditional dancing and an open meeting with the municipal authorities.
The celebrations begin on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. with the annual soccer game at the local sports field.
On Friday, July 24, participants will enjoy a boat trip to Pserimos. Departure is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., with participants meeting in front of MAD Cafe.
Sporting activities continue on Wednesday, July 29, at 7:00 p.m. with a beach volleyball game at Valsamidis in Vlychadia. The annual basketball game will follow on Thursday, July 30, at 7:00 p.m. at the sports field.
On Friday, July 31, the celebrations move to Argiononta for a beach party beginning at 1:00 p.m.
A highlight of the programme will be the annual Kalymnian diaspora dance, scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 8:00 p.m. in Christos.
The series of events concludes on Friday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. with an open meeting at Kalymnos Town Hall.
