A broad discussion on the role of Regional Universities in Development was held in the Hellenic Parliament’s Regional Affairs Committee, initiated by Dodecanese MP and Committee Chairman, Manos Konsolas. He emphasized that regional universities must become think tanks for innovation, research, and local development.
Proposals included the creation of Knowledge Regions, Regional Development Observatories, and local brain drain reversal programs. Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Nikos Papaioannou expressed positive support and proposed a follow-up session to further develop the proposals.
